The New Hope Story

Every church's story boils down to the same thing: God told some people, "Follow me" - and, with much stumbling, they did. That's what we think happened to us, and the fact that we're still here leads us to believe we may have gotten that part of the story right.

Back around 2001 a small group of people at Grace Fellowship Church, an independent church in Timonium, began exploring the idea of starting a new church in the 795 corridor. After meeting and praying together for a while they decided that it was time to go ahead and "launch." So - with Grace's blessing and assistance - they hired a pastor, rented out a movie theater and had their first Sunday morning service in March of 2003.

Since then, the movie theater has been torn down, and more than half of the people in that first core group have moved to other states. We have grown from that initial small group of a dozen or so households into a full-fledged independent church with a footprint spread throughout Baltimore County, Baltimore City, Howard County and Carroll County.

Since 2016, New Hope has called Catonsville home. Currently we meet at 200 Ingleside Ave, in a facility with a rich history of worship, fellowship, and service to this community. We mark it a privilege to be here and are excited about what God is doing to grow His church.

New Hope Community Church is a community of Jesus followers who seek to live out the way of His kingdom. We value Christ-centered worship, small group discipleship, and sacrificial service to others. All are welcome. Please join us for services at 10am each Sunday.
